Communal Herbs

If you live around North Bondi then look out for my newly planted communal herb garden. Keep your eyes on the look out for green stickers showing when each is ready to be picked (which I'm guessing won't be for at least another month.) Being my first attempt at anything like this made me keep it simple, so at the moment you will only find basics - but more are on their way once I get a grip on it.

Mint, parsley & coriander
Chives, rocket, oregano & rosemary

I found these babies at Gardens R Us in Kingsford. Not knowing the first thing about soil, fertiliser, which herbs to grow where and just general gardening made me a little nervy, but the staff practically held my hand and led me through it. Awesome!

I can't take all the credit for this cute edible garden - Zoe helped with the shovelling of soil, worm catching (none were harmed and were released back into their home) and removal of herbs from containers. JJ was project manager helping with positioning of the herbs, Taj was there for moral support and of course John, my next door neighbour who set up the little area and got rid of all the weeds.

Thanks guys! Here's to happy healthy herb eating!

The Border

D-BAR

" Want to catch some gnarly waves?"

Then grab your board and head to the NSW/QLD border! Whether you’re a beginner or a pro it doesn’t get better than D-Bar.
After your session in the green room, head up the hill to Point Danger for fish ‘n’ chips and a milkshake on the grass whilst you take in the view. So - wax up your boards and we’ll see you out there!
Highlights

Put your right leg in NSW and your left leg in QLD while standing on the border. Don’t worry you won't split into two.

Wild bush turkeys roam the grounds. Careful they don’t gobble up your fish 'n' chips.

Keep your eyes open for beautiful water dragons (lizards) they love lounging in the sun.
If surfings not your thing, hire a bike and cruise along the boardwalk or maybe just soak up some rays on the beach.
Snapper Rocks is just on the other side of the headlands - famous for the Rip Curl Pro contest!
Surfboards and umbrellas can be hired at the beach.
D-bar Cafe and Bar serves food all day - be sure to grab a  famous milkshake!

Strength

Last weekend I headed down to the North Bondi rocks to take some shots of the famous rope climbers! It was the perfect setting for these insanely fit, muscular and friendly guys!
The group have been climbing together for 15 years and smash out over 20 climbs per sessions. Crazy! I  seriously could see muscles popping out of these guys bodies that I didn't even know existed.

You will find them every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 12:45pm in all their climbing glory - and if you're feeling inspired to give it a go (I was- but chickened out!) you can join the group. Just go up and have a chat to them and they will fill you in with the process!
So- I highly recommend heading down to North Bondi rocks with a little picnic and having a squiz if your free on the next sunny weekend.

Bun in the oven

During my lunch break today I went with my sister to check out the little one growing in her tummy! She is 12 weeks preggas with her second bubba. Congrats JJ!
The technology they use to scan is amazing - I could clearly see the shape of a tiny person that was only 5cm long, while the lady pointed out that its bladder was full and was probably busting to do a wee!  Very cute.

I'm going to try and get a pic every week from now on so we can watch her baby bump grow.
Stay tuned.
